Submitted for the MAR13 Meeting of The American Physical Society Hamiltonian Formulation of the Hydrodynamics with Quantum Anomalies GUSTAVO MONTEIRO, ALEXANDER ABANOV, Stony Brook University — The hydrodynamic limit of a charged massless chiral spinor under the presence of gauge field in 3 dimensions is consider in [1]. For this system, global gauge symmetry is anomalous. In order to satisfy the second law of thermodynamics, charge current and entropy flow have to be corrected. We present a Hamiltonian formulation of the relativistic hydrodynamics which accounts for these new terms; extending the analysis done in [2]. In this formulation, the limit when particles become massless can be performed in a straightforward way and it has the advantage of being the natural framework to quantization. We show that the Poisson’s structure of the hydrodynamics of ideal relativistic fluid allows for a one-parameter deformation. The value of the parameter is fixed by quantum anomalies present in the underlying theory. This formulation allows for generalizations to hydrodynamics of systems with additional conserved quantities, and is found to be a higher dimensional analogous to quantum hall effect. [1] D.T. Hamiltonian analysis of interacting fluids

Ideal fluid dynamics is studied as a relativistic field theory with particular stress on its hamiltonian structure. The Schwinger condition, whose integrated version yields the stress tensor conservation, is explicitly verified both in equal-time and light-cone coordinate systems. We also consider the hamiltonian formulation of fluids interacting with an external gauge field. The complementary ...

Conductance in quantum wires by three quantum dots arrays

A noninteracting quantum-dot arrays side coupled to a quantum wire is studied. Transport through the quantum wire is investigated by using a noninteracting Anderson tunneling Hamiltonian. The conductance at zero temperature develops an oscillating band with resonances and antiresonances due to constructive and destructive interference in the ballistic channel, respectively. Moreover, we have fo...

بررسی دینامیک کوانتومی مدارهای الکتریکی مزوسکوپی با بار گسسته

The quantum dynamics of a charged particle in an infinite chain of single-state quantum wells, in tight-binding approximation and under the action of an arbitrary time-dependent external field is investigated. The connection between the Hamiltonian description of this model and the Hamiltonian of a discrete-charge mesoscopic quantum circuit is elucidated. Based on this connection, the persist...
